First brisket

    I'm doing my first brisket. What is good to inject into said brisket? I was thinking a fruit juice. For example if I inject with apple juice should I also mop with apple juice? It's about 11 1/2 pounds whole cryovac brisket

  3. IMHO all a brisket needs is salt, pepper and some good hickory wood.

    But if you inject with apple, spritz with it as well

    I didn't inject it. Just a rub. We are using oak and apple. This is about 7ish hours in.

    It looks delicious, how did it taste?  Beef broth seems to be popular for injecting briskets.  And then rub of your choice.

    Here was the final product. It was very moist and tender. Thanks for the info. It was greatly appreciated. In two weeks were doing another. But we are going to inject and mop and try a different wood combo.
