So I just had to try Dutch's Wicked Beans with a few minor changes. This was only a 1/2 batch....
Started with my canned baked beans, canned pineapple, bacon, ketchup, brown sugar, onions, bell pepper, jalapeno, dried mustard. I actually did not add the brown sugar since my canned beans have alot sugar in them already. Not pictured was the BBQ sauce that I added as well - I just split the recipe with the ketchup.
Ready for the smoker
And finished....smoked with a chuck roast (I'll post in the Beef section) for about 3 hours with mesquite.
Turned out good. I liked them as far as sweetness but the wife said she wanted more sweetness. (Go figure - Like I'm not sweet enough!
) lol
Thanks for checking out the pic's - Thanks Dutch for the recipe. I will post my Kitchen Beans recipe sometime soon which is a real "meaty" version of baked beans - It's not so much a side dish as the "main dish".
