Brisket Rub Suggestions

Discussion in 'Electric Smokers' started by smokin k, Jul 1, 2009.

  1. Hello all-

Well I'm getting ready for a 4th of July bash at my place. Planning to smoke a nice brisket-sneaking some Italian sausages in there while it's smokin...

But I'm looking for a new brisket rub recipe. Kind of tired of mine. Maybe I could get a few suggestions? Sometging with a little bite to it, maybe? I'm all ears-uh, eyes. Thanks in advance for anything that'll RUB me the right way...

Check in the Rubs and Sauces threads under the Recipes Only section. There's a ton of them there.

    Go real simple.
Just salt and lots of black pepper, you'll be surprised how good it it.

Here is one that I really like:

    1/4 cup coarse salt
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 cup sweet paprika
    2 tablespoons pure chili pepper
2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
    1 tablespoon onion powder
    1 tablespoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

    enjoy,
    Mike
