Hi, I need a few pieces of Blackjack oak that I can cut into smoking chunks for personal use. It need not be fully aged but needs to be small enough for me to split with an axe and cut into chunks with a band saw. Located in Northeast Florida near Jacksonville. I got a few pieces from a firewood lot a few years back but that seller is long gone now. I found another piece on the side of the road after some tree trimming one time. I don't need a whole lot.

Thanks. Yes, that was my first post! Blackjack grows wild in our area, so it seems like somebody here ought to have a source. One of our local BBQ chains uses it.

I got lucky and found some only a half hour away today. I put it through the band saw and ended up with a good supply of 3-4" chunks.
