I was at Wally World about a week ago and saw bags of chopped up JD wiskey barrels (made of Oak). Has anyone used any of this or have an opinion of good or bad?

Never used them personally, but they are ok from what I have heard.........nothing terribly special, but alright.

I gave them a shot and it was interesting. I wouldn't pay more for them but the scent is interesting. You can smell the whiskey in them and during the smoke.

I have never used them for smoking, but I have used them for grilling steaks.

They make an EXCELLENT bourban steak!

I usually let the steaks soak in a good bourbon for 20 minutes or so first too.
