So I purchased a new digital thermometer in preparation for my first turkey smoke. Until now, I have been relying on the stock thermometer in the door of my smoker (which I was happy to learn agrees with the digital). I realized why I have needed this all along...now I can justify simply hanging out in front of the smoker with a beer in hand to my wife. "You see honey, I am making "micro-adjustments" to the temperature."

I am not sure she buys it...

One thing about the door thermometer ... keep it clean! I will read off if you let grease build up on it! Great smoker though - I love mine!
