Anybody try the recipe in Big Bob Gibson's BBQ book? Deer have been hard to harvest this year and don't want to waste an entire hind quarters if it is not a good recipe. So far my wife has had the only success. I have had the book for a few years and it was a fun read but, never tried any of the recipes.
10 more days and my smoker is supposed to be finished and I am starting to line up what to cook.

That’s a nice looking Dear. The deer is nice too :) Haha just messing with you. I’ve never had Alabama white sauce on anything but chicken. What’s the recipe for venison.

Yes. I use this recipe. (My go to cook book also.) Multiple times. Guys at work love it. It’s a good one. I do not add the potatoes or carrots. I do add the garlic.

Thanks. Reading the recipe made me curious to try it then as I thought about it I was afraid that it would be just a pot roast.

I may add, I use cherry wood for smoke. Makes a nice smoke ring. I slice that deer ham not pull it. Also, I make an extra jar of the white bbq sauce for dipping.
Let me know who it turns out!
