Got a whole turkey I’m smoking.

Only been on an hour and 20 min, temp is already at 115.

This seem ok?

Grill temp has been steady at 225, it’s a side smoker barrel style grill.

Weber bluetooth thermometer probe, battery is good.

Thoughts ?

Thanks.

Hi there and welcome! I wouldnt worry, turkey and chicken cook pretty fast. Just an FYI your skin is going to come out like leather on chicken and turkey unless u smoke at like 325F. Just be aware of that quirk when smoking poultry... the quirk is my mortal enemy hahaha.

Something people do is they smoke a turkey or a chicken at a low temp like yours and when it hits an Internal Temp (IT) of like 135F they throw it skinside down on a flaming hot grill to finish the skin off so it is edible.

I hope this info helps and let us know how things turn out! :)
