Hey fellow carnivores!!! I'm trying to get my next build started, my first was out of a 3' x 24" piece of steel pipe i got from work, and i want one with more cooking space, as of now i can only smoke 1 brisket at a time and no more than a pan of chicken thighs. I really want to start competing again so the need for a bigger smoker is evident. My question is, does anyone near southeast Texas know where i could find a tank short and fat. I want it to be vertical with SFB at least 30" diameter. There are some guys out here where i work sandblasting and painting a couple of or shore tanks, and their sand pot looks prefect, it's about 6' tall and 36" in diameter. Any suggestions and/or comments welcome. Thanks.
 
Joker, morning and welcome to the forum.....   If you get a 30" X 6' pipe, consider a Reverse Flow (side firebox) type smoker.... uniform heat across the cooking grates.... easy access to the grub....  I have no experience with a vertical 6' tall unit, I would love to give advice about something I don't know squat about...  but refuse to do that.....
