There is one thing about Pellet Smoker. You sure do use them a lot. This the 4th time my Rec Tec 590 fired up this week. So easy!
You can light it manually without the rodThey are handy. One of the better "all-in-one" solutions out there. My Rec Tec has been a tank for around 6 years, but the ignitor rod failed last week, so it's down until I get a new one.

agreed, that was a driving force in my decision to switch to the Rec Tec. I wanted easier and more consistent everything. its all that! Ill post todays cook here in a while. There is one thing about Pellet Smoker. You sure do use them a lot.
I've seen that. The ignitor is technically working, but it keeps tripping the GFCI, and I'd have to tear into it to unplug the ignitor. I'm just going to wait until I order a new ignitor. I've got my Webers to get me by!You can light it manually without the rod
How old is your GFCI outlet? If it's 7 to 10 years old you might find that it's the outlet itself that's actually failing. They tend to wear out if they're under load regularly over time and the symptom is usually that will trip sooner than usual. I have the same issue with a GFCI that was shared by my smoker and an upright freezer. My smoker started tripping the GFCI pretty much every time and it ended up that replacing the outlet solved the problem. A quick trip to the home repair store near you and about 10 or 15 bucks and you could be up and running again within a half hour to an hour depending on how handy you are.I've seen that. Cool. It was worth a shot. Well at least you ruled that out and now you'll be double sure that everything works once that new igniter arrives.I actually replaced the GFCI 2 weeks ago thinking that was the problem.
I replaced recirculate pump on hot tub once then every time it came on GFCI would trip. I swore bad pump. Place I bought it from gave me hard time replacing it. New one did same thing. Had to call repairman. He came out and had to call boss. Boss said tell him replace GFCI. It fixed it.The garage door opener is on the same circuit and popped the GFCI a couple times, so it was time to replace it anyway. Cheap fix when you can do it yourself. I appreciate your help.
