Looking to purchase a rice steamer for warming left over Q. I saw one in Target, Metro brand for $29.00 and some that was going for as much as $129.00. Does it really matter?

I don't know about for reheating q, but for making rice it does make a difference. My parents have a nice, fairly spendy one and it does great. I bought a cheap one and it's junk. It always burns the rice onto the bottom of the bowl and doesn't cook it evenly. I've used it a couple times and since then it sits in my cupboard unused. Waste of money. I'd say spend a little extra and get something better than the bottom of the line. Though I don't think you'd need to spend anywhere near the $130 one to get a good one.

I prefer to cook rice in a veggie steamer. We have one of those electric rice cookers, but unless I need 3 cups of rice cooked it burns the bottom.

I reheat my BBQ in the microwave and/or low oven. I have a tendency to add sauce or a wet towel to the food to retain moisture.

I have a cheapy steamer and only use it for reheating Q and it works great I think it was around 29 bucks

TN try the steamer and see what you think its bout all I use unless doing a really large amount.

I think I'm with you Piney..What the hey it's only 29 bucks and I'm sure it will work for awhile..not planning on cooking rice in it just warming Q
