Just got the smoke hollow 48in smoker and have been using it every weekend. things has been great.  i was smoking some chickens one weekend and noticed the temperature spiked from 225 to 300 real quick, so i went upstairs and found that my roof was on fire.  from what i can tell somehow the hose either got singed to the point where there was a hole or had a hole and basically created a flamethrower on my deck.  lucking nothing was permanently damaged, but certainly got me thinking about alternative to the traditional hose.  has anyone ever used a stainless steel hose some links below

i think these are usually used for indoor use, but i would like to take all precautions after the last incident.  any insight would be great.

The stainless braided LPG hoses are designed mostly for propane turkey fryers, where some hot oil may spatter onto the hose. Standard propane hoses may melt from hot oil, creating the obvious possible fire hazard. No portable propane devices are designed for indoor use, so don't make the mistake of thinking along those lines...they're for outdoor use only (barring emergency heating with a portable catalytic heater, or using a camp stove for indoor emergency cooking, etc, but they are not designed for indoor use, so use extra caution). The stainless braided hoses are worth the expense when upgrading or replacing a damaged LPG hose, as they are much more durable and reliable.
