I have a Shun Ken Onion DM-0500 with Bamboo holder that has been used less than 6 times. Otherwise it has been on display in the kitchen. The knife and holder are both in excellent condition. No scratches on the handle or either side of the blade. This knife has NOT been sharpened, as I hope the close-up blade pic will show.

The price is $135 with free shipping anywhere in the Cont. USA. Price is firm. PAYPAL ONLY.

PM me if interested, or if you have any Q's.

Joe

Craig and Dave,

Thanks for the comments.  Somebody will get a "like new" knife for what I believe is a very good price.  My wife bought me a hand made Japanese knife for Christmas in 2011.  That has started me down another "collection" path, which forces me to thin the herd and sell this knife.

BTW - Do either of you guys want my Paypal address?

I received the same knife for a Christmas gift a few years ago when it was first introduced. As I recall, the price then was a little over $300. To me, the weight, feel, balance, not to mention the sharpness, are perfect. I only wish mine looked as good as this one, but it's pretty much my go-to knife for most things and is in daily use.

Are the Shun knives really worth the money?  I have a cousin getting married and they asked for close to $5,000 worth of these things.
Yup..

In addition to the knife shown here I have a Shun Kershaw santoku and boning/fillet knife, all Ken Onion design. To me, they're not inexpensive but well worth the money. As I recall, The santoku was around $300 and the boning/fillet was around $180. Your cousin asking for $5,000 in Shun knives is going way over the top.

FWIW, the Ken Onion series is no longer produced by Shun Kershaw. They parted ways a couple years ago and, from what I understand, Onion was going to start his own production of kitchen knives. I'm pretty certain that Shun licensed Onion's patented technology for his Speed Safe assisted opening system for their pocket/tactile knives. I have one of those also but it was purchased directly from Onion. It's a beauty.

Have ya sold it yet...i might be interested....never thought I'd consider paying that much for a knife...

The knife is not sold yet.  In fact, I have not had even 1 PM about it, which surprises me a little based on how I priced it.  On the other hand, this is not a huge audience compared to EBay.
