Smoke Hollow 30" Electric Smoker

My brother just gave me this Smoke Hollow 30" Electric Smoker, for an early christmas present.  Just curious, as this is my first smoker, how good its it, do I need to "adjust" anything with it, or run it like it is?  

I would like to do a roast or turkey this thanksgiving.  Since this will be my first use of a smoker, I'm planning on doing some test runs this weekend, so I'll be reading throughout this forum to get some understanding and ideas.  However, if anyone has some links to some great starter threads, I would really appreciate it.
