I have a question for the members that purchase Piedmontese Beef. Do you prefer the grass-fed and finished or the grain-finished? And why?

I buy both. Besides the nutritional aspects. You can research till the cows come home. Pun intended. I just buy what I want within the price I want from them. The only thing I do notice. Is the grass fed tends to be a bit leaner. Which can cause higher overshoots in finish temps. Just pull a few degrees sooner to correct. Both these meats from CPB are excellent.

Can you tell the difference in flavor between the two? I have only had grass-fed once and didn't care for it, however, that might have been preparation as it was in a restaurant.

What I have tried over the years was a lot leaner and was easier to over cook, tough is what happens when over cooking lean meat. The cattle ranchers wished everybody would buy the grass fed at higher prices, it cuts down on their costs to raise and market the cattle. more profit, grain feed mine if I have a choice.

I can't tell the difference either.
