Oh, woe is me. I made a big mistake.

Meat Mopper

I've only just barely started smoking meats this Summer, but I made the mistake of giving some smoked ribs to my father. Now he's giving me anything that can possibly be used for smoking in the hopes that I'll keep giving him some of anything I smoke. Has this happened to anyone else? Please tell me I'm not the only one. So far, it has been two old refrigerators

one old chest freezer and one old Outers Hickory Smoker.

I'm sure there can be much worse problems to have, but I've got so many projects on my list that I almost wish I wasn't retired so I could use my job as an excuse. I said almost. I'm using the chest freezer to keep the chipmunks from eating the chicken feed. The GE fridge actually still works and could be put back in service, but it will take about $90 to replace the door gasket. I'm kind of looking forward to smoking in the Gibson fridge. The Outers is, well, I guess just something to fart around with when the cabin fever sets in.

I don't have your problem per se, but I can say that ever since I've gone head first into BBQ, family and friends have had no problem giving me gifts for my birthday or christmas. In other words, lets just say I got enough wood chips, chunks, and pellets to last until 2040! lol

lol. I haven't gotten any gifts of chips, chunks, or pellets yet, but he did also give me whole standing dead, apple, cherry, and pear trees. It's funny how all these gifts also include carting unwanted stuff away from his place. I can't complain, though. It doesn't do any good. But of course, I'm not really complaining, that's my wife's job as she sees all this stuff show up. She got the chest freezer, though. That's where we store the feed for her chickens. It's my job to kill the chickens when they have a date with Freezer Camp.

LOL talk about irony....you have to hide the chicken feed in an old freezer until it is time to slaughter the chicken and put that in the freezer!

Where abouts are you at? I've tubed the Au sable a couple times. I love it up there.

Cedareater ,I wish I had that problem . I'm giving things to my FIL , trying to get him started smoking . Don't mind , but it will cut down on my pit time !!!
