Offset vertical or straight vertical?

I have a offset horizontal that I built and am very pleased with.
I bought a smoke vault propane thinking it would be nice for the cold New England winters and for whenever else we wanted. Needless to say I'm pleased with the performance of the vault and have been looking into building a charcoal/wood fired vertical.
I picked up a cool fire place insert at the transfer station(dump).I figured for my next smoker project (still have finishing touches to do on the last one ).
Anywho I've decided on a insulated vertical.
I'd like your opinions and any reasons why you build a offset or straight vertical cooker. Go!
 
I Like a straight up vertical. Yes, I admit it.

Heated fluid stacks in layers according to temperature and relative humidity, and understanding that allows me to plan my smokes. I have multiple cooking zones, if its loaded correctly, but that because I learned my smokers and how each cook.

A smoker unlearned is a piece of junk.
 
For fuel efficiency, I would go with a straight vertical...   use the stove top to also transfer heat to the Cook Chamber...  a small fire will heat the CC up nicely...

You will still have the smoke going up through the exaust...   the exhaust will enter the top of the cook chamber, travel down through the Cook Chamber and exit near the bottom of the Cook Chamber and out the exhaust....    That makes it a reverse flow....
