Offset smoker

Is anyone familiar with the Charbroil 700 offset smoker. It is a cheaper model but I thought with a few mods it might be a great intro to stick burners without spending a fortune. Any help here would be awesome.

First let me say that before you make a lot of changes to your offset, if you buy one, cook on it 2-3 times to get a feel for how it performs out of the box before jumping in with both feet.

There are others on this site, but these mods were very well done IMHO, in particular the exhaust stack extension.

Do you intend to burn wood or charcoal?
