Hey everyone. My name is Fred.I live in NJ, just outside of NYC.Really glad to be here.I'm a machinist by trade.Been doing this for over 30 years.Just got into smoking about 7 or 8 years ago.Used my Weber kettle grill when I first started. Then I saw a Brinkmann bullet smoker out of

the box at a L**wes and picked it up for $25.It was missing some parts but I managed to get it together. The rest is history as they say.But now I want to move up to something better.I'm thinking about the WSM.Any advice or suggestions are welcome.Thanks.

Hi Fred.  I own a WSM 22.5" and love it!  One of the best investments I have ever made and wouldn't trade it for the world - not saying I wouldn't enjoy owning a stick burner, but I would never get rid of the WSM!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.I'm still trying to decide witch smoker to get.The WSM is definitly a consideration but I'm also looking at the Brinkmann LE Trailblazer.I like the Brinkmann because i can also grill on it,but the size of it concerns me.I looks like it would take alot of fuel just to smoke a couple of 7 or 8 lb butts.Or even just one for that matter. And also I've heard mixed reviews about offset smokers.

I think I'm leaning toward the WSM.Any advise, suggestions, comments would be greatly appreciated.Gotta go,headed to the scrap yard to sell some scrap to help pay for this thing.See ya'all.
