My name is Sean and I have never smoked meats before.  I recently bought a new gas/charcoal combo grill with a cast iron smoke box for smoking.  I'm definitely interested in the different rubs, sauces and smoking techniques that members to these forums use.  Since I have no experience smoking I am also finding it interesting reading about how other people calculate the time that the meat needs to spend on the grill/cooker and how to determine when the meat is finished.

I look forward to learning from all of you and from sharing my experiences here for others to see.

Welcome Sean!   You've stumbled along to the right place, there is a wealth of smoking and grilling knowledge on here.   I have a  simple charcoal/ gas combo and rarely use the gas.

Utilize the search bar for any smoking subject you can think of and if you can't find what you need you can always ask, people are happy to help.   Good luck and enjoy some great meals.
