I just bought myself the new generation MES 40 as a Christmas present to myself and I'm ready to start putting it to use. I have 4 kids, which makes for a busy household, so I'd love to start smoking up some big cuts of meat on Sundays and have easy dinners for the week.
Growing up in the KC area, I'm obviously a big fan of BBQ and smoked meat, and so many people around here consider themselves pretty good amateur BBQ-ers, so I figured I'd join the club. I've tried a few things on a bullet style charcoal smoker, but always had a hard time maintaining temperature on it and tending the fire, so I decided to step up to the electric to get something a little more idiot-proof for me. I read some threads on here before buying and got the A-MAZE-N pellet smoker as well, and I'm ready for my first attempt at brisket and pulled pork this weekend to serve at a New Year's Eve party at my house. (Yea I know, serving 30 people with my first attempt is risky, but if it turns out bad, I'll just make sure everyone gets too drunk to notice).
