Hello everyone,

Like I was saying in the Roll Call, I have had an obsession that is taking over. The Char Broil was not cutting it anymore. It has done the trick for a few years but I figured it was time to upgrade. Since I have limited fabrication skills, I started looking online for a new smoker. I found some that I liked style wise but not price wise. Now at the end of the day, I fully understand why the prices are what they are......just had to justify in my mind why I was willing to spend those prices...which didn't take much....I was getting ready to purchase then I remembered that I had a local guy that has his own catering business during the summer which he smokes all of his food. After talking to him and realizing he has built many.....it was on!!!

So here we go...Starts off with 3/8" Steel Casing. Here he already has the caps on each end

The Main Chamber - 24" x 48"

Fire Box - 20" x 20"

Got the legs underneath and lining up the firebox with the main chamber.....

Firebox attached to Main Chamber and main door cut and hinged

Looking into Firebox with side door cut.

Getting the door flanges on..

Got the grates in the Main Chamber and the Firebox...Baffle cut into the door and dual exhaust!!!

Putting the wheel up next to it...Friend thought it would look weird with 20"s......I say uh no, the bigger the better!!!

This is where she sits as of this morning.....Counterweight added, wheels on...few more finishing touches and then she will be ready for sandblast and paint!!!!

It's looking like a great build

I think you are right. It is pretty well balanced and with the bigger wheels it does seem easier to move around.

Wow~that turned out really nice War Hammer. So what's the meat of choice for the maiden smoke?

i was wondering. with the 2 temp gauges. how much difference is their from side to side? looks like 24" pipe is that about right?...........nice build.
@Themule69 - there is not much difference between side to side. I have a tuning plate that is in it to better regulate the temps. It varied a few degrees from time to time but nothing major...

It is 24" x 48"  3/8" thick casing

Outstanding build and q-view.  Really enjoy seeing homemade welded smokers being conceived and finished.  I knew I should of took shop class instead of band.
