I am currently working on the plans to build a new smoker. One of the main issues for the design is an existing trailer setup and the accessibility of 1/4" plate over circular tanks. Not sure if this pic will show up well enough but the design is a large rectangular box mounted vertical with a slight slopes front to help with the condensation build up. I like the concept of a reverse flow but given my constraints I need to place the fire box to the rear of the cook chamber with a warming/vertical smoke box on top. The question I have is will this setup still act like the traditional reverse flow? I've done all the calculations and here is what I have....Cook chamber 51,912 sq inches, Fire box size 17,304 sq inches to be 30" wide 30" deep 20" tall, Fire box to chamber 144" to be 18" x 8" opening, Air intake for fire box 54" (3) 3" x 6" openings, Chimney volume 900 cubic inches to be 5" diameter x 45-7/8".
