New Akorn first use

I just got a Char-broil akorn for Christmas. This is my first time using this style, before the first use, what sort of "break in" and maintenance does a grill/smoker like this require? I'm wanting to take the best care of it possible.

Huh.Well,the manuals are easily found online.

You just wipe the grates or spray with Crisco or cooking oil.
Run it about 400° for a couple hours..
Shut down all the vents after a couple hours and wait for it to cool down.. spray or wipe grates before each use. That's it. :)
Only the grates need attention.
Don't try to run it over 600° or your grates will need to be re-seasoned.
