More From the Bear Den Zoo

Had a busy July @ The Bear Den Zoo this year.
I thought I’d give you guys a Bunch of Pics to look at.

We often see Deer, and a few times a couple of Does with 2 fawns each, and a few times a Doe with 3 fawns.

Then other times We see Foxes, like I showed you before. We were seeing an Adult & 2 Pups, but for the last few weeks we only see one of the Pups.
However he’s pretty friendly, as he spends some time cleaning up under our Bird Feeders, and now & then he even comes up on our deck to lick the bowl Mrs Bear has under her Hummingbird Feeder to catch the drips from small leaks. That bowl is right next to out Patio Door, so he is only a few inches from our Dining Room. He’s Cute little guy!!

Then we had a “Not So Cute” visitor a few days ago, when this big Bird landed on our Bird Bath.
I guess Buzzards get thirsty too. Oh Well—We’re pretty much a non-discriminating Zoo.

Hope you enjoy the Pics!

Wow Bear, you've got your own habitat there. Be careful, they look cute, except that buzzard.

Thanks for sharing.

nice pics bear, thanks for sharing, wonder if that buzzard would pass for a turkey this thanksgiving.

Nice pics bear, thanks for sharing! Love seeing them. Unfortunately we have a guest around here somewhere also, just haven't seen it yet...sure did smell it the other night when two dogs decided to play with it at 10 PM. Yep, a skunk...it was bath time

Nice pics Bear! We love to see the wild life around us as well.( like to eat a lot of them critters too lol!) I like the ones of the fox! Cute little guy. We have an abundance of yellow frenches this year and a ton of humming birds. One flowering shrub on the corner of the house seems to be very popular with them. Ive seen as many as a dozen or more of the hummingbirds at a time...never able to get a good picture of them. I'll keep trying.

Deer and Bear, we got. No Buzzards but we do see Turkey...In the OFF SEASON!:emoji_confounded::emoji_tired_face:...JJ

Nice pics John & Jake! You guys have mountain lions around there? Usually where there's deer there's stuff that eats them. RAY

Thank You Ray!!
No Mountain Lions in PA since the 30's.
However, PGC says we have about 4,000 Bobcats, 20,000 Black Bears, and Trappers kill about 40,000 Coyotes per year.

We see them around here now and then ( mountain Lion ) . I saw one going to work one morning in Southern Illinois . Came from the river and crossed in front of the truck . Saw one while deer hunting couple years ago . Some guy had one on a trail cam over in the valley . Residential neighborhood .
Also been sightings in St. Louis county .

The only Mountain Lions we have in PA are the "Penn State Nittany Lions".

No Way---They're disgusting creatures, but they do an important job.
I like them more than Snakes!

We didn't see any Rabbits in Spring. Thought the Foxes got them. Then we saw one, and now we've been seeing 3 rabbits. I think maybe they can Make Babies faster than the Foxes can eat them.
My favorite Birds are Hummers & Goldfinches. We never see more than 3 Hummers at one time, but usually have a Ton of the pretty little Bright Yellow & shiny Black Beauties.

Nice bear. Got a group of deer that visit several times a day here. Maybe 11 total including 3 fawns. Here's a few pics from yesterday evening off the front porch
Me and the wife love watching them. 4yrs ago we had 3 fox. Wife wanted to adopt one lol

Nice Pics, Jake!!
We don't have big herds here like the last place we lived---Counted 26 there one time & 32 another time. We usually see them about one family at a time, except during the Winter when they herd up, usually before a storm.
Yup---We agree that Foxes are cute, but wouldn't want one for a petting type of Pet, but they sure are fun to watch.

Had 28 Turkeys come through one time, but usually only see about 8 or 10 of them at once.

Thanks JJ !!
Bears are neat, but I don't personally like them being right around the house, like at my Buddy's Cabin in Potter County!!!
