I like seeing all of the different smoker builds on the forum so I am sharing a few of my own. The tread plate on this smoker really makes it stand out. The cooking area measures a massive 5'x8' with two levels of cooking space. Check out the pics and be sure to let me know what you guys think.

This is what I started with. Supposedly came from the prison many many years ago.

The bottom was rusted pretty bad so replaced with a solid sheet of 3/16

Wing style doors on both sides

Gas shocks make lifting the doors a breeze

This should give a pretty good representation of how big this cooker is.

Access door on the back for putting in the coals

And another access door on the side for reaching the front

Basket on the tongue to hold to LP tanks

Two burners for supplemental heat and to keep food warm after cooking.

First cook: 54 butts. Could have easily held 60 or more just on the bottom rack.

Let me know what you think...

Very nice!

I especially like the gas shocks on the doors. And of course the giant size.

I built a 4 x 8 grill out of 10 Ga. Your 3/16th should really last.

I built this cooker for a friend. This was a photo from the first cook with it. Cooked a total of 80 butts for a fundraiser event I believe. Meat turned out great.

The burners were custom built as well. They are only big enough to provide supplemental heat and to keep the food warm after cooking.
