I went to the local grocery store yesterday to their "secret sale." They usually have one just about every month and usually have some really good prices. I was a little disappointed that the boston buts were 1.99/lb this time around when they are usually .99/lb. I got a twin pack for around $25.00. The whole new york strips were all sold out, and the whole pork loins were impossible to get to. So, I settled on a 20 lb case of Spare ribs for $19.80. I took what little bit I had and went home to vaccum pack the spares. I put 3 to a package, and I thought I had three left in the case, but it was only 2. In the very bottom I pulled out a FULL SIDE OF RIBS! It made my day, and the fiance freaked out a little bit...but when she settled down she asked, when ya cookin dinner?

I have hit 3 sales at 3 different stores here in the last 3 weeks.

Butts have not been on sale at any of them . i asked the butcher about it and he told me that beef sales are in the summer and pig sales are a wintertime thing.

not sure if it's true but i know that i'll be lookin to stock up on butts when it gets cold.
