First attempt at making these they were very good and pretty easy to do

Those look great! Nice job! I do them often. Best way to do drums in my opinion.
 
Those look really good. I prefer to lollipop my drumsticks too. When I'm through with the prep I take a sausage pricker and poke a lot of holes in the skin, so it's more bite through. In addition to snipping the tendons, do you also remove the little 1" toothpick looking bone?

Yes I clipped the tendions and removed the thin bone

Those little buggers are sharp! Ive stabbed myself more than a few times trying to remove them lol!
Yes, they are sharp.... I use a paring knife when prepping and once I see the top of the small bone, I run my blade between it and the leg bone as deep into the meat as I can go, then twist the knife (the same motion as turning a key) and a lot of the time the little bone will break. If it's stubborn I use a pair of forceps.
