Hello all,
I just purcahsed my first smoker and can't wait to get it going. It is a master forge electric. Dome(the red bullet). Now with this being my first I do have a few questions since there were no directions or tips in the box, first being do I just put the wood chips in the bottom pan with the element? Second being I have read some people talking about seasoning their Smoker just how do I do that? Since all of my grills have been second hand I have neer had to season any of them.
First I am sorry for ask what for some would be obvious, and thank you for your responses.

Thnx for the help

I would get a metal pie plate or small cake pan to set on the element to put your chips in. Don't use non-stick. As far as seasoning goes, wipe the interior of the smoker and grates down with veggie oil or spray with Pam. Then put a handful of chips in the pan, run it on medium heat for 1 hour and let it smoke, crank the heat up and let it run for another 2 hours. This will burn of any bad stuff in the smoker and you should be good to go. Not sure what that smoker has for a thermometer but the factory ones are usually pretty bad. Invest in a good add on temp gauge or get the Maverick ET-732 dual probe. Have fun with your new smoker!
