hey guys just had a quick question on johnsville smoked chedderwurst & hotlinks? Can you or should you smoke them? I ha heard you shouln't smoke sauages that are already smoked? Any help
Absolutely smoke them...they are fantastic when you apply some real smoke to them. I like to use a sweeter smoke (maybe some apple or cherry) on brats of all kinds...you're gonna love them!
I boil my brats in beer for 20 minutes then put them on the smoker at 225-ish for an hour. Best way I've ever made a brat.
Cold beer and cold brats in the pan together. Over medium heat until they come to a boil. Then back the heat off until it's just a gentle bubbling simmer. Let sit there for 20 minutes. Then off to the smoker.
