Making stock, for my green chile stew, from bones like I always do and hear a loud noise in kitchen. Liquid covered the stove. Over pressure still intact and was like it blew the seal. The outside of pot was very hot. I had just cleaned the seal and vent. Seal seems Ok. Scary. I had one blow the OP from vent getting clogged one time and Oh what a mess that one made.

Oh wow, I'm glad everything is ok and it didn't get too bad.
It sucks you lost some chilis, I hope you have enough to still make a great meal :D

Glad to hear you were in another room Brian. It could have been a whole lot worse.

Dang Brian, that is spooky. I thought these new pressure cookers had so many safety features they almost couldn’t blow up, but obviously they still can.
I fight with mine from time to time about getting to pressure because there is a relief hole on the outside of the gasket area where if the gasket slides out to far in that spot the pressure escapes.

Glad you are ok.

This one 10 years old. Not sure what other than somehow the seal must of failed. This the same one that blew the over pressure before. It going in the trash. I broke out my newer insignia 8 qt one.
