Hello!

I’m new to this with big offsets and is about to start my first offset smoker build. These are not common here in Sweden. I really would like some inputs from you pro’s :-) I found a air pressure tank from the 70’s that is really thick (I guess around 9mm or 3/8inch as you say). Its volume is about 1000 liters or 250/260 gallons. My original idea was to place the firebox high and let the opening from firebox enter above grate level. After my YouTube research I found out this is called jambo- or outlaw-style…. Seemed like a natural idea to me.

What do you think of the design? "Drawings" and photos attached. Do you think it will work? My biggest concern is what size I should use on the openings between firebox/cooking chamber and from cooking chamber to smokestack. And height of chimney.

If you don't need the cooking room, put the Fire Box inside the air tank in the first 3 feet... Divider wall height to above the food grate... Exhaust stack opening below the food grate... Exhaust stack height, ~ 36" above the air tank...

Check out this build...

I wan't to use the whole tank as cooking chamber. I prefer the room for lots of meat.

Thanks for the link, intresting project there. But not really they way I want to go.
