I didn't hear that either . Just had him on in the shop yesterday .

My fellow co-workers would listen to his music at work. Being a ‘Yankee’ I never heard this type of music before, but I actually liked it!

RIP COA!

RIP David Allen Coe, was the man!!!! What a mad man!!!

WOW!? I never heard of him ?
As I listened to him now,
Reminds me of a Charlie Daniel's style songwriter.
Definitely a storyteller, much like Harry Chapin, ( Cats in a cradle) and Billy Joel. ( Piano man)
As how we all live our lives.
Thanks for opening this up.
David Allen Coe : RIP AMEN ...

I never really listened his music before and this sounds damn good, appreciate you sharing. I gonna check more his songs a bit later.
Be careful if there are kids around, some of his songs can be pretty sporty.🤬🤣🤣🤬

I had the pleasure of seeing him twice when I was stationed in Norfolk, VA. First time he was opening for Hank, Jr. Seemed that only myself and a couple hundred bikers went to see DAC. The bikers kept hollering for his "blue" songs, which I had no idea at the time he had them. After one song he stopped to let the bikers know that he wouldn't be singing any of them as there were kids in the audience. When he finished the set the entire crowd was calling for an encore. He came out and did a few more songs and left the stage. Again, everyone calling for an encore and he came out and did a third set and left the stage with everyone calling for more. After about 5-10 minutes someone came out on the stage and everyone was going crazy until we realized it was Hank, Jr. The crowd then started hollering to bring DAC back out. Hank did a good show but no where close to DAC.

The second show was a much smaller venue as it was in a rather large bar in VA Beach. Went to it with a buddy of mine of the ship from NY and my future wife. It was quite a bit more intimate but again an awesome show.

At one time I had about 8 of his albums on cassette. Sure wish I had them still but my wife got his greatest hits a number of years back on CD. I would have to same my favorite album of his is "Human Emotions, Happy Side and Suicide".
