How dry is to dry?

On another forum I frequent, it is one about heating a home with wood/pellets, someone mentioned using a digital multimeter to measure the moisture content of firewood. I believe for use as home heat 20% moisture content is acceptable. Anybody have the magic number for smoking purposes?

Good question! I would like that answer as well. I did buy some wood from Frutia Wood & BBQ Supply they cut wood to order the box of post oak I ordered has a much stronger fragrance then the bags I buy normally I plan on trying there cherry wood sometime. All the chunks are a great size as well they claim you can use less wood because it's" fresher".

Was out splitting the rest of the Ponderosa Pine I have for a Disabled Vet buddy. This stuff was taken down last September. When it got pushed into the wedge on the machine it literally peed a stream of sap out...which is what got me thinking about this....
