(I'd hate to start this off with a lie, so I'll just point out the inaccuracy of my title as I actually LIVE in Provo, Utah, but I'm on a business trip at the moment. It just didn't make a whole lot of sense to greet everyone from somewhere I most likely won't return for a few years...)

Long story short: I most likely won't be too active here - mostly because my schedule won't allow it. I just wanted to follow protocol and post in this forum.

In typical engineer fashion, I've been researching smokers (Kamado's etc) for a while and finally bit the bullet (and bit it in a very "baptism by fire" kind of way.) The results of it all ended up with me ordering an electric smoker, and agreeing to bring one of the turkeys (obviously smoked) to Thanksgiving dinner.

I'll let you all know how it goes I suppose.

Welcome aboard the SMF. Check out the poultry section for some tips on preparing a delicious smoked turkey for your holiday dinner. Best of luck, be sure to take a few pictures (AKA Q-view) and post back your results
