So I pulled the trigger on a big pull behind smoker to try making a little side money on weekends. I think I have a reasonably simple menu together that I can handle on my own. Sausage dogs being one item. Problem is I can't find a local sausage maker. My butcher shop has some decent sausages but he won't tell where he gets it from and I'm stuck paying retail with him, and the casing they use is little too tough to me.
So, if you were looking for a popular sausage dog to sell (preferably raw so I can put the smoke to it) to a crowd, what do YOU like? Kielbasa, brats, Italian? At least til I can find a local maker. BTW, I live in NE Georgia if anyone knows a sausage maker in the area.
Thanks for any advice.

Johnsonville makes some good stuff if it's available in your area. Several different styles of brats.

You're not that far from Atlanta. There has got to be shop there that can supply you with fresh brats, sausages, etc. I would also reconsider making them yourself. I'm not putting down store bought, but I think homemade will keep your customers coming back for more. I'd be willing to bet that people will pay more for something like that as well!
