Couple things here. First, welcome aboard. Second, when you see an item such as EVOO in a post and it's highlighted, just put your mouse icon over it and it will tell you what it is. In this case, it's Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Same kind of stuff happened to me when I got here...

What have you been smoking?.....Tried a FATTY yet? mmmmmmmm the FATTY is really worth looking into. Have fun!

Oh have you seen it in the stores?
She says on the foodnetwork to buy what's on sale but then she comes out with her own brand and it's THREE TIMES the other stuff.
She's NOT practicing the "preach".

A high end store around here does a buy one get one on a nice first press about 3 times a year. I LOAD up. Have several bottles in the basement.

Normally it's like $17 for 750ml.

Good stuff though. It's not hers.

I get mine at Sam's, it is 3.0 liters for about 18.00.

Good deal.

I've been tempted to get the "Kirkland" at costco. Bout the same.
If you think it's cool then I'll try it.
Of course, yours is Sams, but it's probably quite close.
I SWEAR those two stores have the best meat.
Can't beat the price and the quality is right up there.

Her broths, both been and chicken, are both a few cents less than the regular national brand. Maybe it is just her EVOO. I haven't seen hers in the store yet, but will look next time I am in town.

Wow, I didn't know she has broth out.
Is it good?

This is off topic sort of but do you know if it has MSG? My Wife can't handle that stuff. B A D for her system.

I buy the olive oil at Costco and it is great. Also buy a lot of my meat there. Great deals on pork shoulders and ribs. And like you said the quality has always been great.

Amen brother, I buy everything I possibly can at Sam's, I would say I shave 40 % off my grocery bill and there are only 2 in the house.

Now if I can rip off the National grocery chains on sales I do. Just saved 28.00 on Rib Eyes yesterday. 3.99 bone in, sorry Albertson you made my week. Tonight I saved over 8 dollars at Smith's Krogers on just 2 items. I am surprised they don't ban me cause I only buy sale items.

Oh sweet dude (norrell) - Yeah, I'll get the EVOO there next time and give it a whirl. What is it - like $23 for a gallon? HECK of a deal. I've NOT been dissatisfied with the Kirkland brands. Yeah, and the meat is FANTASTIC!
I like to make a seafood boil when they get in those sacks of mixed stuff.

My wife bought R Ray's evoo once because they had it on special.
Personally i could not tell a difference between it and what i normally use.

I did see her broth today at the store.

evoo  Ok I had this question and found the answer.  Now for the big 64$ question...  It's Extra Virgin Olive Oil   What is the difference really between  Wallies and Rachael Ray's and and other brand for that matter?  And Wallies isn't even made in China lol. The label says Argentina Italy Spain Tunisa and Turkey.  Any one of us could get the bulk evoo from wallies or anywhere else and rebottle it and resell it as our own personal brand ;) .  But we're not on TV so probably wouldn't sell all that well.

We have a farmers market in Temecula that has a Greek vendor. He imports his oil under his own label from his relatives in Greece. The flavor is amazing. I get a gallon for $40 and it lasts about 6 months here. This is the second best olive oil I have ever tasted. The first being $100 and was from a small producer in Italy that hand pressed the oil. Great finishing oil but too expensive for me to buy.

So I found this "California Olive Ranch"  EVOO  (http://www.californiaoliveranch.com/).  Bottle says "We cold press our award winning 100% California grown olives within hours of picking for a fresher taste. (more)...   Just $6.34 at wallies.

So the verdict is...

My old bottle of wallies GV EVOO and the new bottle smell exactly the same.  I tried a taste test using the wife as the test subject.  Dipped a piece of bread in both and ask her which one tasted best.  Wife picked the wallies GV brand as the best flavor.  But then added she really couldn't taste the oil on the other sample.  Maybe no flavor is a good thing?  Maybe the cal oil just has a more subtle taste.

Also, The Wife says there's a store in Eugene OR with a large selection of flavored oils.  If I find it I'll post info and a web link if they have one.
