While I have no experience with "Made by Mel", making covers for our smokers is not rocket science. Custom covers from everywhere are all made out of only a handful of weatherproof fabrics. Regardless of what you spend on one, I can't imagine a cover exposed to the elements 24/7 would last more than a few years.

I bought sail covers for my boat from an independent seamstress. She uses the same fabric as the big names, but at a reduced cost. I've been more than happy with the quality and longevity of the covers. I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy a smoker cover from a small independent company.

Let us know how it turns out.

Covers by Mel is a very well known name in some BBQ forums.
Mel, who is actually a female, made me a cover for my Blaz'n pellet grill. I've had it around a year and a half, it sits on my grill year round, and shows no signs of wear. I think it might last as long, if not longer, than my grill. And if you are familiar with Blaz'n grills, that's a very long time.
IMHO, they are the Rolls-Royce of outdoor cooker covers.
