TEXAS

Only two days left till Christmas I hope everyone has their gift shopping done and Christmas dinner plans all worked out.

I'm not going to be smoking anything this year, but I will be grilling.  Having my mom over for lunch on Christmas going to be making one of her favorites BBQ chicken breast topped with bacon cheese and onions.  Making roasted potatoes and a squash casserole as sides. Tonight I'm going to get the whole thing started by making fudge & peanut butter fudge, and I have a super secret gift to make for my girlfriend still.

Its going to be a very Merry Christmas over here what does SMF have going on this holiday?  What are you guys smoking / making?

Can't take credit for the lights those are Clark W Griswold's.

Here's a picture of the fudge and cookies they turned out awesome.  Also I made sausage balls we had a Christmas Party to go to tonight as well.  I've gotten a lot of cool stuff so far this year too so that's awesome.  Bed time soon and then in the morning its presents, and on to preparing lunch.

Well well look what santa brought me looks like my girlfriend did her research and got me the thermometer recomended by SMF.

Here's my grilled chicken topped with bbq sauce bacon cheese and green onions

Whats left of the squash casserole and roasted potatoes.

All in all we had a very Merry Christmas over here.  We even got snow in Texas this has really been a good one.

Nice looking fudge. Marshmallow?

My first batch of pecan divinity failed. The second batch with powdered egg whites and cream of tartar came out the right texture, flavor not as good though. :/

Yeah the chocolate fudge is the original fantasy fudge recipe off of the kraft jars its so dang easy I tried it the way the recipe is listed on the jar now and it really isn't as good..

That is the same one that I use...thought I recognized it!  Love that stuff!  And it's just too easy.  At one point Kraft changed the recipe and it was called Creamy Fudge...nope!  Wasnt right!  I posted the recipe here.

That's interesting, I wonder why they changed it?

Maybe they are using more sugarcane instead of corn sugar, and had to change it? (I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud.)

I've used nestles fudge recipes before with great results. Their recipe site is verybestbaking.com

I've gotten lots of compliments with the maple walnut fudge. Didn't make it this year, spent my time ruminating over failed divinity. :p The recipe looks the same, I think.
