i was just wondering if anyone has tried to use charcoal or lump or anything else besides wood chunks in their reverse flows. i have been wanting to try royal oak or something for a while now, i just haven't done it yet.
 
Hey Duck, I run charcoal as a main course in my SFB reverse. Now I'm using 16" splits as well. But it seems like the charcoal helps hold the temps better then just wood. I have never used a basket, I just dump it right in on the grate.
