Can we not post photos to our signatures?

I'm trying to post an image as part of my signature, but it wants me to upload it as a URL and I don't see an option for a local file upload. Yes it's a .jpg This is what I'm trying to add. The image option in signature does not give me the "drop image here" box, just the URL option.

I just clicked the image after I posted it here to get a URL and then used that and could U/L it to my signature. Sort of solved, but not everyone will figure this out (and I don't know if it will go away if this post does?). It's now part of my post signature so it will show up twice below, one is the image from my question and the 2nd one is my "signature".

Don't know about the signature... But you can add a pic to your avatar so when somebody hoovers over it that picture pops up instead of the in your avatar... If you hoover over mine you'll see what I'm talking about... It's a picture of Bristol Motor Speedway at the NASCAR race..
I know it's not what your looking for but ...

Doesn't work for everyone to see?
When I hover over your avatar I see your avatar and a thumbnail of your profile.
