Took a few days off work for an extended camping weekend at Netarts Oregon. Of course I brought the mini-WSM along and put it to use every day. I was driving my camping neighbors crazy with the wafting aromas and were asking every day what was for dinner! Ribeyes on the first night, Brisket burgers on the second night, and Beer can chicken on the next. We happened to be camping just minutes from Jacobsen Salt Co. https://jacobsensalt.com/ @dirtsailor turned me on to their salt a while back, and boy am I glad I stopped in! Although they were under construction putting on a new roof and their processing plant was closed, I sure felt like a kid in a candy store in their retail shop and walked out a bit lighter in the wallet! (FYI you can also purchase their products on Amazon.) Awesome beach time with the Boxers, beautiful sunsets every night, even a lighthouse to check out! What an awesome weekend!

This bird was seasoned/dry brined with Jacobsen garlic salt, fresh ground black pepper, and a pinch of Italian seasoning. WOW! BEST chicken seasoning I have ever had! Done as beer can chicken...Mrs. BEV requested.

I did get a couple keeper Dungeness crab from the bay that I cooked and cleaned, and of course had to devour one as a snack fresh out of the cooker while the smoker was going!

Cruizing with the mini! Rock steady temps even without the GURU!

Say hi to my little snack!

One for now, and one for later! Mrs. BEV isn't a fan, and I'm not sharing!

Got to cool a bit before closing it up and going in the fridge.

Ok. Enough waiting! here is a shot of the bird! Time to pull it out and eat!

Sorry... Mrs. BEV got to it before I could get a better shot... But once I got a taste... Sorry again! This was also the last that was ever seen of it!

Thanks for watching

I'm so glad you put up pics of the area . One of the things I always like to see are pics of other parts of the country .
Great post .

Thanks Rich. I wasn't sure if it might be a little overboard. It was definitely a beautiful place to visit. I'll definitely be going back.
The bird was mind blowing amazing, but I don't see a whole lot of crab or shellfish in general posted on here much...
Thanks for the like.

Thanks for sharing those pics and description of a great time! Almost felt like I was on vacation for a few minutes! :) All the food looks great. Looks like the dogs had fun too.

Camping done right. Altough I have always cooked over the fire when camping (years ago. Wife doesn't enjoy it now). I wish I knew then what I know now and feasted like you a did.

Hi little snack, I wish you were my little snack! Now that is a terrific mini vacation!

Thank you. We do have a blast together!

It looks like an awesome extended weekend camping trip, to me, BEV.

You're a rich man, me amigo.

Thank you a lot. I wish I was still there... always sad to leave. I do feel like I've hit the jackpot with my blessings though.

What a spot! You are truly a lucky man.

fresh crab is the best.

Indeed. I can't think of a bad spot on the Oregon Coast. I can never take it for granted.

Nothing better than fresh crab fresh out of the pot boiled in the water that came from!
Garlic butter not needed!

Thanks Chris. This was a well needed trip. We were supposed to go there last spring but had to cancel because of work. It was worth the wait! Very relaxing. Yes!Thanks for the point.

Wow, what a great place to camp!
The food looked pretty darn good too!
Al

Thanks Al. t's a great spot there at Cape Lookout State Park. We always eat good when camping (better than we should!). This trip was no exception.

Way to go, camping is one of our favorite things to do also. And we always take the Weber Q and BBQ most every night.

Like!

Niiiice John! Weber q's are awesome!
This camper actually came with a gas grill. You can almost see it attached to the side under the awning. I just use it with a cast iron griddle though and use the mini for everything else. But there is a gas fire bowl (fire pit) you can see there too. Ive grown real fond of it for multiple reasons. Sure is handy especially when there is a burn ban and can't have a camp fire.

Thanks so much for y'alls likes.

Great pics, great scenery and food!! It all looks awesome!!

I’ve always wanted to run my dogs on a remote beach like that!

Amazing
