Had some turkey drumsticks in freezer I had bought awhile back for 99 cents lb, seen this recipe posted on Jeff's website and knew that's what I'm doing. Brined them overnight in a gallon of water with a cup of kosher salt and cup of brown sugar. Out of the brine and rinsed

Then mixed up 2Tbs of Jeff's rub and 1/2 cup mayo to coat them. In the smoker running around 250 degrees. Didn't know how long these would take since they were so big. Here they are 1 1/2 hours

Once it temp hit 160 degrees time for the glaze...1/2 stick melted butter, 1/4 cup maple syrup and 2 Tbs Jeff's rub. Glazed them again at about 170 degrees. Was windy and cool and kinda stalled, finally pulled them at 175.

My wife had told her to leave the kitchen so she didn't get stepped on... she got up and came and laid by me, she must think I'm a softie and would let her stay...she was right!

Thank you guys for all the kind words and the likes, it's appreciated! Sorry for the delay in responding, got busy and life got in the way. But I sure enjoyed getting time to smoke something finally.

Great looking legs Ryan and a beautiful job. One question though...what kind of beer is that you used to showcase the size of those things. That's a brand I'm not familiar with apparently :emoji_astonished:

Just gotta have beer with turkey,

Thanks Robert, I appreciate it! That was a mountain dew my son had just grabbed it out of the fridge. I was either having kalua, margaritas, or black velvet not for sure which!
