Thought I would let folks know.   Just bought a smoker from Home Depot this Sunday It had a dinged up water pan so I called Brinkmann Customer service and was told as of last Thursday they declared bankruptcy and could not honer any customer service issues. He did offer to give me a phone number that I could request a claim form. He did say they were liquidating the stock so maybe some good deals may come out. Of course for those of us with new or under warranty grills/smokers we are SOL. He did offer to let me buy a water pan, but he could not send one for free.

On October 8, 2015, Outdoor Direct Corporation, formerly known as, The Brinkmann Corporation (“Company”) filed for chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court. This action was taken to complete the orderly wind down and liquidation of the Company. As such, Outdoor Direct Corporation is no longer able to honor prepetition—before October 8, 2015—warranty claims and the Company is no longer offering replacement parts free of charge. If you have a warranty claim, you may file a proof of claim with the official claims agent appointed by the bankruptcy court, Kurtzman Carson Consultants LLC (“KCC”). Proofs of claim forms and instructions may be obtained by visiting www.kccllc.net/Malibu  or by calling, 866-967-0499 or +1-310-751-2699 (outside of the U.S.). Please note, KCC cannot advise creditors or potential creditors how to file, or whether one should file, a proof of claim.

I was just considering buying one, have always used a Traeger but have heard good about Brinkmanns..

So do they sell aftermarket pucks for the the Brinkmanns or do they even use them anymore?

I Would hate to buy one and not be able to get smoking fuel for them...

Thanks

Asparky

Yep no more E.C.B.!! How many of us started on one of those! Brinkmanns Customer Service always did me right with parts and damaged grills right out of the box, but I do have to say about 2 years ago I bought a combo gas grill and smoker called smoke and grill pro smoker. I believe that set me back about 3 or 4 hundred, what a piece of crap smoker. The grill worked great and still does, the smoker on the other hand was just not useable. The lowest smoker temp I could get was 325, talk about frustrating!

Well dang, guess I better hurry up and get a new water pan and charcoal pan ordered while they hopefully still have them.

Fire up the mod machine, need to pick a new ecb and how to make it work right. There is at least one in that price range now, maybe others will come to fill the void.

Brinkman was my first experience with smoking. I was 17. My Dad had 5 strokes. And he was looking for a different way to cook. He used the first one I got him so much it rotted out in 4 years. Best turkey I ever had came out of that thing...

An ECB was my first smoker as well. Still have it too. Almost gave it away when I got my pellet grill but couldn't do it. Too many good smokes left in it.
