Hey guys and gals!

So i have been playing with my new bradley 6 rack smoker that i got super cheap off craigslist. This is my 1st electric smoker. I tried to do some snack stick the other night and boy was it nothing but hard to control and maintain a temp in that thing. I have been lurking and reading about PID which sound very interesting to me. Maybe thinking that this will help me. If anyone can point me in a direction or give reviews that would be great!

Thanks,

Ty

Go over to the Bradley Smoker Forum. There's a wealth of information about just the topic you're talking about. Short story, add a second element, Auber PID, and you've solved your problem.

I have a few questions even though this thread is 2 years old.  What is a PID and how do you like your bradely 6 rack now?  I'm looking ofr a larger smoker.  I prefer charcoal and wood but this seems so easy to get started, I may consider switching.

What are you thoughts?

Rob - Hope the links below helps.  Interesting note is that Auber produces a PID controller specific for the Bradley line pf smokers.  A PID will stabilize smoking/cooking temps providing a higher degree of accuracy and better final results.  On a side note, the pucks are fairly expensive.  However, that does not seem to bother the Bradley owners. Some other smokers to consider are those from Smokin-it, Cookshack, and SmokinTex.  I can heartily recommend the Smokin-it and Cookshack smokers having owned and used both. The final link has videos.  Good luck.
