Never made Dutches beans even though they sound fantastic. Not much of a bean freak but this sounds like something we could enjoy. However this looks to be a huge batch. My question is can I freeze half or should I scale down the recipie. Surely someone has frozen this stuff before. Does this make the beans all mushy.

Thats kinda what i figured but if I could make the whole thing and save half for later, that would be great. But not if it lessens the quality.

If you have a food saver/vacuum packer, that will probably work to keep it frozen. I couldn't live without one. I use it all the time for leftovers which I purposely do on smokes. However, I've never tried to freeze baked beans.

That said, why not cut down the recipe, see how things go on everyone's tastebuds? You can always make more. It's an excellent recipe.

We had baked beans tonight BTW

I have had my beans last several weeks in a cold fridge. Once you eat them you won't stop at just one serving.
