I have a 8 year old propane kitchen stove, everything workes. I'ed like to use the oven as a smoker, there is an internal fan, and it really holds the temp. Has anyone ever tried to do a build like this.
Injector-Welcome to SMF! You're not the first to think about converting a stove to a smoker~
I have a buddy of mine that made a smoker out of an old gas stove-he converted the broiler drawer to burn charcoal and wood-it worked but he could put more meat in his converted fridge smoker so he used that most often.
And SMF member JonnySax has an oven to smoker build going on now. Here is his build page. Jonnys rusty old oven build. Check it out and follow along and keep us in the loop when you build yours. You'll always get free advise from the members, asked for or not-it just the way we roll!
Smokers don't waste much and I have seen chambers made from some very unique items. Jeff Foxworthy could come up with a whole new story line with, When ya use an old__________to cook your special dinner, you might be a smoker.
I guess I'm in the wrong build forum, I'll move over to (other builds). Had a good look at what jonny was doing but If I go that route, all the parts may not go back together...
