i was comparing cajunsmoke13's smoked boudain to a friends recipe and he said his was perfect but missing one key ingredient..

savoy dressing..wtf is that?..lol

i am back in canada, can get everything to make real boudain but want to make it authentic, any idea what this ingredient is?..lol

thanks

Apparently it is a spice mix from Louisiana used to flavor dirty rice and such.

Found a website that looks like its got a lot of good Cajun stuff in it, where I found this:

www.savoiesfoods.com

"Savoies dressing mix is another product unique to Cajun land. The Acadian treat is used to make delicious rice dressing ("Dirty Rice"). Dressing mix can also be used for cornbread dressing or as a stuffing for turkey or other meats..."

Don't know exactly what's in it, nor could I find the ingredients elsewhere. I am sure it contains dried versions of The Cajun Triumvirate- celery, onions and green pepper.

Hope this helps!

thanks for the help and the link

looks like shipping would kill me, i will make the sausage without it..lol
