Jesse Kruse from my town of Great Falls Montana won the NFR saddle bronc championship tonight. Thing of beauty! I'm a big fan of this sport, although those of you that recall my horse wreck of last year realize, I'm not so great at sticking em myself. Billy Etbauer at 46 years of age put on a fantastic show too. Great to watch, although I don't like the way they cover it on TV.

I used to ride bulls in the County Fair, but never rode Broncs

congrats to jesse! i agree that it's better to watch live rather than on TV. my best rodeo memories usually involve watching the arena from the side of a hill on a picnic blanket in killdeer, north dakota when i was a kid. the more "primitive" the arena, the better!

Our ranch overlooks the town of Belt, and the park in particular. When we were young my brother and I would ride to the valley rim, and watch the rodeos from up there with binos. Lots of good memories indeed.
