My wife and I have experience with WW. Fish and chicken are a good place to start. If you like portabellas those would work in the smoker. Also, you can smoke veggies. I think I've seen a recipe (or at least pictures) of smoked stuffed green peppers.

Even lean pork and beef will work, but you're probably gonna have to keep the bacon and sausage to a minimum.

Hope this helps.

Just 'cause you joined WW doesn't mean you can't smoke!!

Here are a few suggestions to keep the smoker going, and the scale happy:

1. Smoke chicken and/or turkey breast and use it in a salad with low-fat dressing (very little points especially cause the meat is lean)

2. As Homebrew mentioned, smoke the heck outta some veggies and put those over brown rice.

3. Get some lean meat and smoke some burgers! They don't have to be big, but from WDs post a week or so ago, they look mighty tasty!

Good luck!

Thought I'd chime in again.

You might consider some of the things that you would typically fry and figure out a way to smoke them. Smoking is definitely a more WW-friendly way to cook than frying.

My wife is on WW as well. A couple of weeks ago, I did a meatloaf according to Jeff's recipe but I used the super lean ground beef -- only 1 point per ounce -- and it stilled stayed pretty moist. I just kept track of everything I put in -- 4 eggs, 2 pts each, 3 slices whole wheat bread, 1 pt each onions are a freebie -- total up all the points. When your done smoking it, weigh it then figure out how many points per serving size.

The great thing about WW is you can eat anything you want as long as you count the points, just not as much as you would probably like. It's very flexible that way.

Good luck.

Here are some of the many low fat options.

Smoked Turkey Breast, very lean

Chicken breasts

Whole chickens and freeze the legs and thighs which have more fat for another day.

Smoked ground turkey meatloaf. ground turkey, egg white, ketchup, seasoning, yumm. you can put some jarred roasted red peppers on the top and as it smoked the moisture will render out of the peppers and baste the meatloaf.

Use the above mixture mixed with some rice in a yellow red or orange bell pepper.

Portabella mushrooms, mopped with balsamic vinegar.

Fish. I like salmon but you could use a lower fat fish if you like. I marinate mine in a mustard maple syrup vinegar marinade.

Sweet potatoes. Cut them up, toss them in a bowl with a tiny amount of oil and put them on a vegetable pan. Top with some fresh herbs.

Use your imagination and you will come up with plenty more.

I used philly's low fat cream cheese in my last batch of buffies, mixed in some 3 cheese taco cheese and they were really tastey, held up well in the smoker too! I used little smokies on top, but ya could use bout anything ya wanted to.

ABT's lowfat??

But if ya gotta, low fat/Fat free cream cheese and wrap with turkey bacon.

ORRRRRRRR cook regular ones and cut them into 5 pieces.

I wouldn't. Big difference in taste between the low fat and the no fat cream cheese.
You can fill them with 2% milk cheddaror other lower fat cheeses but cheese get it's taste from the fat IMO. You can also use the part skim or low fat mozarella inside the ABTs; stuff them with some smoked chicken and turkey to replace the bacon. Turkey bacon doesn't do it for me, it's still got some fat and lots of salt but without most of the taste of regular bacon.

ok ok ok, if ya gotta, he is right. low fat is way different, and prob better as they put different situations in NO FAT. I agree, just low fat. and cut em up in to 5 parts. and just wait 5 sec between each bite!!!!

I just tasted the NO FAT...and to be honest..it dosent taste bad...Im going to attempt them tomorrow...well I guess more like today now..lol

Got to love weekends when you work nights the rest of the week

Im up pretty much all weekend long
